Asbestos Handling and Removal

Every home built or renovated before the mid 1980’s is likely to contain asbestos. If left undisturbed asbestos generally does not pose a health risk.

Please refer below to the following links, in regards to general information in relation to asbestos handling and removal. However, when disturbed during renovations and home maintenance, asbestos fibres can be released into the air and when inhaled, can cause life-threatening diseases including lung cancer, pleural disease, asbestosis and mesothelioma, an incurable, terminal cancer.

Asbestos Awareness

Importantly, if you suspect you have asbestos in your home, Don't cut it! Don't drill it! Don't drop it! Don't sand it! Don't saw it! Don't scrape it! Don't scrub it! Don't dismantle it! Don't tip it! Don't water blast it! Don't demolish it! And whatever you do... DON'T DUMP IT! If you are thinking about renovating, you must be aware of asbestos. It is important for home owners and renovators to be aware of how to safely manage asbestos in and around the home.
