Mountain Bike Track

A new Mountain Bike Track has been constructed at Abattoir Road, Griffith.

The project involves constructing a Mountain Bike Track consisting of tracks, roll over and kicker ramps and aims to act as an inclusive public playspace, providing the Griffith community and visitors with an area to experience adventurous play, positively impacting health and well-being.


UPDATE 16 February 2024:
Progress is evident in Stage 1 of Griffith's new Mountain Bike Track, covering approximately 4.5 kilometres of tracks, a skills area, shelter, fences, and a car park. Following user group consultations in September 2023, the project officially began in November 2023.

The track is expected to be finalised by the end of February, although completion of fencing and the car park is anticipated by the end of March.

An application for funding for Stage 2 has been submitted, with potential completion by the end of June 2024, featuring an extended track with additional features (jumps and beams), a drinking fountain, and a single accessible toilet.

UPDATE 16 April 2024:
We are in the final stages of completing the entire park facility. The bike trails and skills park area have been completed. We are currently in the process of completing the new fencing, driveway, shelter area, concrete, landscaping and irrigation.

UPDATE Griffith Mountain Bike Track officially opened 30 May 2024
Griffith City Council is pleased to announce the completion of its new Mountain Bike Track. Covering approximately 4.5 kilometres of tracks, a skills area, shelter, fences, and a car park, Stage 1 marks a significant milestone in this eagerly anticipated project. Following extensive user group consultations in September 2023, construction officially commenced in November 2023. This project will be unveiled to the public on 30 May 2024.
The completion of Stage 1 of the Mountain Bike Track, highlights Council’s commitment to promoting active lifestyles and enhancing public spaces. With its diverse trails and amenities, the track will cater to cyclists of all skill levels, offering a safe and enjoyable experience for families, enthusiasts, and beginners alike.
