Curator Talk with Dr Thomas Middlemost

Join us for a curator talk with CSU: What We Owe exhibition curator Dr. Thomas Middlemost. Thomas has been the art curator of the CSU art collection for over 25 years. He holds a PhD in Art History from the Australian National University on monotype printmaking.
Light refreshments will be provided.

CSU: What We Owe
The Charles Sturt University Art Collection exhibition entitled: “WHAT WE OWE…” Includes historical linocut print work, and framed poetry by First Nations activist, poet/printmaker Kevin Gilbert. Gilbert is a Wiradyuri artist and some of the lino plates printed were from the artists prison floor. The exhibition also includes unique and editioned screenprinted work by Michelle Hamer commenting particularly on the medicalisation and imaging of female and other bodies, and environmental themed work by Sarah McConnell in the form of monotype prints; one on a very large scale of the forrest protests in Tasmania, and a series of smaller prints that form part of the BREAKING series of 57 monotypes based on articles released in the Guardian newspaper about extreme weather events.
